DESCRIPTION AND MEANING:

Melanie requested a Maori tattoo after being fascinated by the Maori culture during a trip to New Zealand.

This design combines some of the main traditional motifs and patterns: the Koru, or fern bud, which symbolizes a new beginning, Matau, or fish-hook, which symbolizes prosperity and protection during sea voyages, Mangotipi, the white-pointed shark, symbolizing adaptability, and the twist, which symbolizes true and lasting love, two lives that can sometimes get separed but will always come back together.
