Tattoo of Phoenix and ivy

DESCRIPTION AND MEANING:

The phoenix, which originally symbolized the sun and eternity, acquired in time the meaning of rebirth by overcoming difficulties (the phoenix is born young again after burning in the purifying fire).

Ivy, for its capacity of winning in time over the mighty oak is a symbol of perseverance.

The meaning of this tattoo can be seen as the possibility to overcome any diffuculty with perseverance, to be born again.

This tattoo, requested by Maria, was intended for the hip or for the outside of the calf.
