DESCRIPTION AND MEANING:

This design belongs to the Maori style series dedicated to the elements, represented through the animals that live in them. More info and the full list are in this post of our blog.

The butterfly is one of the most frequently recurring subjects in female tattoos.

It´s a symbol of beauty, of freedom and rebirth, of transformation.

Butterflies are born as caterpillars, forced to crawl on the ground; caterpillars later close themselves in a cocoon where they undergo the slow and laborious transformation that will allow them to be reborn as butterflies, finally free to fly in the sky, not earthbound anymore.

In the center of the butterfly we placed a bird to enforce the meaning of freedom.
