DESCRIPTION AND MEANING:

Joaquin requested a big Maori styled koi (carp) to symbolize what family means to him, including some designs/values in it: the rose (perfection), family (the turtle inside the manta, similarly to our "ohana" tattoo, here too in a central position), the hammerhead shark (strength and tenacity), the haida eagle (fierceness) and a manaia (protection). The koi itself symbolizes perseverance and courage.
