This small Maori style turtle was prepared for Shannon to honor the memory of her daughter.
It includes a K with a frangipani flower and the breath of life to
represent her daughter, with the K itself shaped by two koru to
represent mother and daughter, initially together and then going in
different directions.
A star in the head of the turtle represents a fixed point and it
symbolizes how important she still is for Shannon.
The braid symbolizes union, and teeth of taniwha mean protection.
