DESCRIPTION AND MEANING:
The phoenix is often associated to a rebirth following a traumatic event (the phoenix is born again after burning in its own fire). Actually, this is a relatively recent interpretation. If you think that the phoenix represents the sun, that dies every night to be born again on the following day, it´s easy to understand how the original meaning of the phoenix was eternity, and remaining the same even in changes.
