DESCRIPTION AND MEANING:

The words "hau kāinga" (joined as well) describe the true home, and also the people living in it, the members of the family.

This tattoo was prepared for Joaquim as a smaller half sleeve which was then integrated by a surrounding part to extend it all over the shoulder and arm.

The main elements on the shoulder are a manaia and a turtle (the guardian angel protecting the family) while the turtle itself has a warrior on the shell protecting the couple symbol inside of a sun made of mountains for eternity and stability.
The braid that shapes the border of the shell is for family union.

The row of stones below them represents achievements, the ani ata represents the ancestors supporting the family and the rows of spear heads are for the warrior.

The armband includes elements symbolizing the four members of the family and representing their characteristics while the two tiki protect them from all sides.

A manta and a lizard on top match the all seeing eye to provide health, freedom and protection.
