DESCRIPTION AND MEANING:

The Japanese koi carp is a symbol of courage and determination. This prehispanic styled version gets inspired mainly by three elements of Aztec culture, all of them connected to the sun (glory): the god Quetzalcoatl, or plumed serpent (Kukulcan for Mayas), the Aztec eagle warriors, and the hunab ku which represents the god of gods and replicates the yin and yang symbolism. Symbolism shared by the plumed serpent too, since the quetzal is a bird that is told having the power to talk to gods when flying, and the snake keeps the contact with earth. Eagle warriors, or sun warriors, symbolize courage, strength and belonging.
