Design Story

This Polynesian armband tattoo represents important parts of Andrea's life.

The central turtle, representing family, is composed of a Marquesan cross symbolizing harmony and balance, with flax leaves and braids to symbolize union, protected by the tiki on the front flippers and by the tiki hands on the back flippers.
The dot below indicates its importance, and it is surrounded by a sun as a symbol of joy and eternity, with friends nearby

The spearheads represent the warrior, strength and courage, the hammerhead shark on the left (past) indicates strength and tenacity to face adversities (the path of Kamehameha and the moray eel) while the lizard on the right (future) symbolizes good luck and health.

The octopus tentacle represents tenacity and adaptability (with the letters M, A, M disguised in it as Morse code), which bring about a new beginning (the koru), protected by the tiki eye.

The fish and fish hook are symbols of prosperity, the flight of the albatross symbolizes longevity, and the fan represents defeating death.
