Design Story

This Polynesian tattoo of a manta was designed for Jean-Marc´s pec, and it represents freedom, beauty and knowledge.
In its center we placed a turtle (family and the navigator), with a dolphin (joy, play) on one side and fish and fish hook (prosperity) on the other.

Waves represent the ocean and the row of birds symbolizes voyage.

The turtle includes a couple representing him and his wife protecting their two children below tehm.
Braids and flax leaves surrounding family are symbolic of unity while the sun encircling them all is a symbol of eternity and joy.

Shark teeth, tiki hands and tiki eye are for protection and the hammerhead shark motif is for tenacity and strength.
