Design Story

This Polynesian hammerhead shark tattoo prepared for Carissa was designed to integrate a small turtle tattoo she already had, and since the turtle is a symbol of family, we placed a koru for new start and braid for union next to it.

The path of Kamehameha, a path full of challenges, remains behind the hammerhead shark, the warrior facing every challenge with tenacity and strength, leading to a sun representing joy.
The squares representing the challenges along the path become smaller along the way, disappearing in the end leaving the path alone without challenges.

The couple is in the head of the shark, chasing birds represent mutual support ,and the star indicates the importance of this union as a fixed point that brings her freedom and harmony (the manta) above any change (the wave).

The all-seeing eye is for protection, also guaranteed by the tiki eyes on the sides of the couple, along with shark teeth for protection, adaptability, and strength.
