Design Story

Sea turtles symbolize family and the navigator, on account of the long voyages they make to reach back to the shore where they were born to lay their eggs there.

This turtle was prepared following the Maori style called kirituhi and it includes some traditional motifs like the double spiral and koru, flax leaves, vital breath and braid symbolizing meeting, life, family and union.
