Design Story

This turtle incorporating a smaller one represents Martijn´s family and the voyage they took together.

The tiki on the bigger turtle represents him protecting his family, whose letters are maorigrammed on the shell of the smaller turtle.

The front flippers of the family turtle have a seashell, mountains and waves to represent their love will be safe and protected on land and sea.

A manta symbolizes freedom, beauty and, knowledge while the bird being the turtle head represents watching the world from a higher perspective and safe return.

The braid symbolizes union while fish and fish hook prosperity.
Koru were added to symbolize life, new beginning.
