Design Story

The knucker is a type of water dragon as told in English mythology.
This Polynesian style tattoo of a knucker was prepared for David as it is linked to his heritage, and it includes elements for family and for the warrior.

Flax leaves for family unity shape the wings and they include two stylized chasing birds within them (support always granted to the loved ones) and a frigate bird (higher perspective).

In the back legs of the knucker I included two koru for David's sons, with their initials next to them.

Spearheads, octopus tentacles, and shark teeth symbolize strength, tenacity, and adaptability, the warrior, while pandanus flowers represent family unity and prosperity.

The legs and wings of the dragon include waves as the knucker is a water dragon.
