M+G butterfly

Design Story

Gerrieke asked for a design which had the headletter of her name, G, joined with the headletter of her best friend´s name, M, to symbolize their bond which will last beyond any separation.

This concept is also represented by the twist inserted in the right tail of the butterfly: it´s a Maori symbol that represents how two people, even if separating sometimes from each other, will in the end always come back together again.

The butterfly represents a transformation and soul, rebirth, and the triskell represents eternity, through the cycle of birth, death and rebirth.
