Design Story

Mahorahora means free, open minded.

The central part of this design represents the cutting of the waves made by a canoe, and symbolizes travelling; they grow from small to bigger as a wish that the passion Simone (who requested this design) has for travels will grow bigger in time and never fail. The dots inside represent islands, wishing him that like Maui did, he can finnally fish his own island (the one in a different colour at the top of the tattoo). Turtle shell enforces the idea of voyaging.

Fish hooks mean prosperity and protection on the water too.

On its sides, two tikis guard on the travels on earth and water (the waves of the armband itself).
