Design Story

Opposing waves at the bottom of this design represent an accident in the life of Davide, who requested this tattoo. The elements between the flippers of the turtle (family) show the date of the accident.

The row of spearheads represents the warrior who never stops fighting trying to conquer the sun back, with his family and friends (enata, or men, around the turtle´s head), prosperity (the fish hook formed by the spearheads) and freedom (the manta). The tiki symbolizes protection and the hammerhead shark is a symbol of determination and tenacity.

Marohirohi actually means "determined, with a strong character, tenacious".
