Design Story
This design wants to symbolize a new start, a change that has been consciously decided. The sun represents life, and on its inside we put the turtle (family), to signify its importance, and the koru (the new beginning). The turtle front fins are made out of two tikis, as a protection on this newly started path, and the back fins are two fish hooks, or matau, which symbolize wealth and abundance. The gecko, connecting to the world of spirits, is there to remember a dear person and the spot on the top is the peaceful island, the goal to be reached.
