Design Story

This delicate Polynesian tattoo for the hip was prepared for Laetitia, who wanted to include an octopus and a starfish as they are both important for her.

The starfish is shaped to recall a flower of frangipani for femininity and beauty, with koru for new life and a fish hook for prosperity.

The octopus has a hammerhead shark motif in it for tenacity and courage while the octopus itself is for resilience, tenacity and intelligence.

Fish represent prosperity, birds voyage and freedom, the turtle shell family, and shark teeth adaptability, strength and protection.
