Design Story
This small Maori style owl tattoo was requested by Nadia to integrate a tattoo she had in the same style.
The owl is a symbol of knowledge and wisdom, and we designed it using Maori elements like te ha (breath of life), the teeth of taniwha for protection, and the ritorito motif for family.
The eye is shaped by the Marquesan ipu, a symbol of fertility and abundance.
A fern is included in the wing and a koru in the body.
