Design Story

This tattoo made of stylized waves represents the duality of the sea in its opposite aspects: stormy and powerful, unstoppable, but also quiet and serene, like lulling.

The sea separates and unites.
Western cultures considered it as a divider between lands while Polynesian cultures for example regarded it as a highway connecting all the islands.
