Design Story

This Polynesian armband tattoo was prepared for Thomas and it is dedicated to his son, whose name is included as a maorigram within the band.

We kept spearheads on top for the warrior and the path of knowledge at the bottom to be the base of his life.

The braid goes in a circular path and surrounds the central part with the breath of life, the flax leaves for family and the sun (joy, positivity, eternity), while the two tiki at the sides symbolize protection from all directions.

The small Kamehameha paths (difficulties) near the sun represent ups and downs with family always being on the sunny side.

The colored legenda below helps identifying the main elements within the tattoo:
