Design Story

The general shape of this tattoo prepared for Roberto recalls the head of a taniwha with its beak ajar.
Thaniwa are great and mighty guardians from Maori mythology; they can take various shapes, scare enemies away and protect the clan they are related to.

The crest of this taniwha designs a sun, symbolizing positivity and eternity, made of mountains for stability.

Inside of it we incorporated several elements, among which a tiki (protection), a manta (freedom and beauty), a turtle (family), a lizard (good luck) and a hammerhead shark (determination and tenacity).
