Design Story

Finn requested a band tattoo symbolizing himself and some people who are very important for him.

The lower part represents him and it incorporates a manta on the front and a jellyfish on the back; the manta symbolizes knowledge and freedom, with spearheads for the will of always doing his best while the jellyfish represents the ability to adapt to situations waiting for the right moment.

The four turtles represent four important persons, each with different characteristics:

  • a hibiscus flower and a braid for carpe diem and support
  • a path of Kamehameha leading to a koru and a sun for help facing a difficult path towards a new beginning
  • a frangipani surrounded by a sun with a net for positivity and cooperation
  • mere, fish hook and enata for a counselor who helps through difficulties

The four enata on the sides of the manta symbolize how these people will always be on his side while mountains closing the top of the design represent the stability they give him.
