Design Story

These Polynesian tattoo of three turtles represents Alyssa's family, with their son protected between her and her husband.

All the turtles include some tiki element for protection, and the father's one has a whole tiki to represent him as the protector, with a hammerhead shark and spearheads (determination, tenacity, and strength), a fish and fish hooks (prosperity, the provider), and shark teeth (adaptability and strength).

Their son's turtle includes a frigate bird to symbolize adventure and watching the world from a higher perspective, the manta with a warrior in it to symbolize freedom and being fearless, and spearheads for the warrior and strength facing every challenge (the opposing waves).

Alyssa's turtle has a plumeria for femininity, surrounded by the chasing birds (support to the loved ones) and the seashell (faithful love), braids (unity) and a net (commitment). The front flippers are open shielding the other two turtles, caring for the family.
