Design Story

Tiaki is translated as "care", meaning to take care of someone.

This wrist band includes several protection and auspicious symbols and has to be sized so that the opposite edges touch.

The two tiki (protection) must be positioned on the inside and outside of the wrist.
The manaia are protector spirits, and their three fingers represent balance between sky, earth and water, whereas fish hooks symbolize wealth and abundance, and are a good omen for everyone to be able one day to fish their own island out of the sea, like Maui did.

Shark teeth symbolize adaptability and protection on water.

Hi Marco, basically, our armbands can be risized to fit everyone's arm, just getting thinner or thicker without the need to add elements. BUT, actually, we are glad that you do so, as this way you will use Michele's armband as a basis for your tattoo without just copying it: this will make it more personal and respect Michele. Tiki means "image"; they are just the faces in the armband, and manaias are the S-shaped creatures (a search on our site for "manaia" will help you spot their shape). Tikis are protection symbols, so having 3 of them won't harm at all! :)
