Tito coverup 2

Design Story

This coverup tattoo was prepared for Tito to turn into a Polynesian design a small scorpion tattoo on his shoulder blade.

To represent protection we chose a lizard, which also has a shape that can be adapted to cover the existing scorpion.

While it would seem natural to cover the tail of the scorpion with the lizard's one, and the claws with the front legs, this would leave the body of the lizard unbalanced since the legs of the scorpion make the part too wide.

We decided to have the gecko facing upward and the other way around instead, which allows us to keep opposite legs of the lizard next to the body, reaching the needed width.

This again allows us to have a Polynesian coverup that is only slightly bigger than the original tattoo and does not have large solid areas that make the design heavier.

The symbols used are the all-seeing eye and shark teeth for protection, octopus tentacle for adaptability and tenacity, and a star for direction.
