Tribal gargoyle

Design Story

Originally gargoyles were stone statues placed upon roofs to convey the water away from the walls of the buildings, channelling it through their throats and out of their jaws (an ancient French term meaning throat gave origin to the name gargoyle).

Several statues of chimeras and creatures were later added to the original gargoyles to scare demons away, hence they´re symbols of protection.

Modern legends believe gargoyles to turn into stone with sunlight, to start living again at sunset. On account of this we coloured this gargoyle as if it was touched by the first rays of the sun, turning back into stone.
