Design Story

This small Polynesian tattoo of a gecko designed for Nathalie´s hand packs a lot of meaning despite its small size: the thorns in the tail symbolize pain, and the flight of the albatross the voyage started from pain, which led to changes (the waves) and to a new start (the koru).

This voyage required strength (the spearheads), adaptability and tenacity (the octopus tentacle) to find a new stability (the mountains) and a new freedom (the manta, protected by the hammerhead shark motif, and with a star in it to testify of its importance).

This brought back joy and positivity (the sun next to the couple on top), with the two chasing birds representing mutual support and the frangipani symbolizing beauty, femininity and safe shelter.
