Design Story

This Polynesian-style arm tattoo prepared for Donella depicts two turtles swimming together towards a new beginning, a new life (the koru), with two fins joined together to form a twist (symbolizing two joined lives destined to be together forever).

The turtle on the left includes elements for family union (the flax leaves), longevity (the sun), stability (the mountains), and love (the shell).
The other turtle has protection (the all-seeing eye), freedom (the stylized manta in the eye), love (the shell) and travel (the bird that forms its head, the same for both).
