Design Story

This mixed Polynesian turtle tattoo for the pec was prepared for Niko and it symbolizes the importance of family and roots for him; it includes elements from the traditions of Kiribati and Fiji to honor this.

The frigate bird for his father is central among the ancestors, with a star as a symbol of importance and direction, of goals among changes (the waves), with fish scales and two tiki bringing protection to the family.

The sun shaped by mountains with a Marquesan cross in it is a symbol of joy, stability, and harmony, and we placed dots between the mountains to symbolize islands and importance.

The whale represents nurturing, family, and power, and we placed a maorigram of his family name in it, with braids for unity.

The people represent the community while the fish hook is for prosperity and sharing, and shark teeth symbolize strength, adaptability, and protection in water.
