Design Story

From the right side of the tattoo to its bottom left corner a row of ani ata represents Rodrigo´s ancestors and friends while a turtle is right above it symbolizing his family (with a sun inside for joy and an all-seeing eye to protect it).

A row of birds starts next to the family and goes far from it high above, representing voyages and getting to watch the world from a higher perspective, reaching to a sun where a manta and a fern (knowledge and maturity) are the reasons for success.
A fish hook just below is another symbol for prosperity and knowledge.

The path of Kamehameha along the row of birds represents the path he´s taken, the challenges faced and won to reach a balance (the Marquesan cross) thanks to tenacity (the hammerhead shark), adaptability (the octopus motif), courage and strength (the row of spear heads).

Two tiki on the sides protect him and his family from every direction.
