Whale tail

Love for the sea |July 19, 2010

Design Story

Melanie asked for a whale tail design, possibly in Maori style, to cover or integrate an old tribal of hers, and to symbolize her love for the sea and for the creatures who live in it.

Since it was not necessary to cover it we preferred to integrate the existing design, on the idea that the present is always based on the past.

We used waves motifs to symbolize the sea and also change (the inserted koru too represents new start) and life (and the stylized ipus symbolize fertility).
