DESCRIPTION AND MEANING:

This armband tattoo was prepared for Tony and it represents protection to his family, represented by the turtle with the family members head letters on the 4 flippers (T,V,A,M), with a braid and flax leaves for family union and a Marquesan cross for harmony.
The sun on its side incorporates the face of a tiki protecting it, like the manaia on the other side of the sun, the all-seeing eye and the lizard (protection and good luck).

Other elements are the flower of hibiscus (carpe diem and beauty), a fish hook (prosperity, like the row of fish), two chasing birds showing help always granted to the loved ones and spear heads for the warrior.

That´s a great idea and the book looks fab. I wish there were more animal outlines though... - TatFan, Denver
