This Polynesian tattoo of a manta ray represents the story of Marcella, for whom it was prepared, and it symbolizes freedom and beauty.
The small turtle in its center symbolizes family, with a
frangipani flower for her mother (its petals are shaped by her
initials and a seashell).
It´s surrounded by a sun as a symbol of
eternity and joy.
The warrior near the tail of the manta represents her supporting other people through the challemges of life (the path of Kamehameha), giving them support (the braid for union), knowledge (the path of knowledge, as a teacher) and prosperity (the fishing hook).
The frigate symbolizes this new perspective on the world achieved with a change (the waves), while the Lokahi motif symbolizes harmony with nature and the world of spirits.
The two tiki on the wings represent protection from all directions.
